| so i noticed i haven't blogged in a while. i've been pretty busy in the last few months. doing cheerleading stuff, joined a soccer team and of course work. had lots to do lately becuase i've been training to become a department manager. along with doing my regular sales numbers, i had to take on additional duties similar to those the managers does and i had to go through some modules at work to develop the management skills. had an interview with some district managers a couple of weeks ago. i thought it went well. they interviewed 6 people for the position i applied for. right before the long weekend i got a call from my store manager telling me that i have a second interview with the store manager at the north store when i get back. so all weekend while i was on my camping trip it was at the back of my mind. 2nd interview went pretty good i thought. the GM there said he had one more person to interview and he'll let us know who got the position later in the week. he's gonna call the two other GM's that i worked with in the last 2 years to ask for their opinion on me. i drove to work right after the interview, took me about 15mins. i came into the store and my store manager tells me that he just got off the phone with the other GM and without even interviewing the other person, he decided to give me the position. :D so starting thursday i will be at the north store as one of the two department slaes managers there. pretty excited about the new challenges, hope honda rider and squeaky's husband don't mind me calling them and asking them questions all the time about things. hehe |

| It's amazing how friends can influence your decisions when you're young. i think squeaky posted something similiar in the past but i'm gonna share my experience with it. most of you already know i coach jr high kids (mostly girls). there is this one girl who's really good at it and has a lot of potential and seem to enjoy it during practice. she's very personable and we (my sister and I) were looking forward to having her on the team for this year and next. she was doing great the first couple of months but then she decided to quit about a month ago. we tried to talk to her and get her to stay but she just didn't want to. not that she didn't like the sport or the coaches but it was cuz a couple of her other friends are not on the team. they weren't very good so we had to cut them to make room for others. just talked to her again recently at a fundraiser we held and she regretted quitting. although we would like her to be on the team, it's just too late in the season for her to learn all the dance and routine. plus it would mean that we would have to take a spot away from one of the girls who have been giving their best efforts for the past 10 weeks. we just hope that she'll try out next year and stay with us the whole season regardless of whether her friends made it or not. |

| Just came back from Red Deer last night (sunday). Been there since thursday night. Went down there with a few other staff members to help open a store down there. Grand opening went alright but i don't think it was as successful as upper management hoped for. Didn't really make any more money than i would have at my store (there were too many staff, 11 there compared to 6 at my store) but i had fun going out at night. went out friday night and saturday night with co workers from both edmonton and calgary. luckily our hotel was only 2 blocks away from the clubs so we pre-drank at one of the rooms and just walk over go get even more drunk :). I felt fine at work in the morning but some others didn't fare too well hehe. Only bad thing about the trip was that my car died down there on the second day (friday) that we were there. It's either a loose ground connection or a bad battery. Had to have my car boosted everytime i want to drive. Even had to fill up with gas with the car running so i don't have to boost it again. wasn't very safe but i had no choice. I'll have to call Kato and see if he can help me fix the problem or just replace the battery since i got it at costco. Happy Halloween everyone. :D |
